Food Poisoning Anyone?

Worst day of my entire life--or not, but worst sickness of it. My last day of Thanksgiving break treated me to a wonderful bout with really awful food poisoning. I spent pretty much 10 hours straight throwing up, not even able to keep water down until 10 hours into it. Then I got to drive the (thanks to the weather) 11-hour trip back to school. Actually, I slept for all but about 2 or 3 hours of it. Okay, I slept from 3 am-2:30 pm Sunday, then got in the car and slept for 9 of 11 hours, then got back to school and crashed to sleep from about 2:30 till 8:30, then got up for class and had PRP (no chapel) so I slept from 10:00-11:30 today. Then to top it all off, we had a city-wide power-outage today. That was actually kinda cool, except that some of the heaters (in the lounges and such) are electric, so it got kinda cold for that hour. John and I decided to drive around town and see what things looked like without any street lights or anything, and it was actually really sweet to see. The roads are solid ice around here and half our campus is stuck in SD waiting for the roads to clear up so they can get the approval to come back. Most of our athletes were down in Watertown, as well as my boss and her husband (the dean of students) and out school's president. It's been an interesting day! That, and chapel was supposed to be "athletic chapel", where the athletic crew gets to do worship, dramas, and a message of sorts, but since they're all stranded, we switched chapel today with PRP on Wednesday. Crazy crazy stuff. And we're in the middle of a blizzard. Great fun! With that, I'm gonna go play some Tales of Symphonia before I go to bed. You may be wondering, why is she playing that again!?! It's simple: it's only the greatest game ever made for Gamecube. :) That, and when my GC was stolen, my memory cards were with it, and now I had to start all over. Kay, I'm out!

Coming Home!

That's right...John and I got off work for the evening on Tuesday and all my classes but one are cancelled for Wednesday, so we're heading out about 6 pm tomorrow (by the time you read this today or yesterday, aka Tuesday) and will be playing Axis and Allies with my brothers and Pastor Mike all day Wednesday while eating homemade bean soup (there are military men that come home from Washington DC just to eat this stuff!) and drinking Caleb's Mountain Dew and good Wisconsin milk (at least 2%, cuz they just can't make the stuff right out here), and who knows, maybe even a good coffee if I bring my flavor syrups home. That was a rather long sentence, wasn't it? The funny thing is it's pretty much grammatically correct. By the way, does anyone know what the longest grammatically correct language in the English language is from and who wrote it? I'll post it soon if no one knows!

Drinking Coffee?

That's right--at this moment I am at work drinking coffee. I don't know what happened, but this is probably the 6th coffee beverage I've enjoyed and indulged in in the last two months. I still don't care for straight coffee, but I sure do like that flavored stuff! Oh, and if you didn't notice, I have links now...over there<--...on the side of the page...check them out! And if yours isn't on here, link me! :) Gotta go to class now. Later! Oh yeah, and I'm giving at least one of the girls here (possibly two) a ride to GB before I come home, so pray that they don't annoy me on the trip and that I can drive nice and safe. :) Bye!

Great News!

Kinda. :P I've never been so happy to report, I ended up with a D on that test--with a 10-point curve. Sadly enough, I got the 3rd or 4th highest score in the class with about 20 students. That's about it for now. I got a 70, which is a LOT better than less than 50. :)

What a Day!

Rachel made it much better by being able to talk to me for a while, and that means Brianna made it better by going to work for her when she was sick. So thank you both! What made my day so bad? For one, I felt like I was at a lock-in last night and never got around to sleeping after it. I don't know why--guess my sleep (7 hours) last night wasn't very restful? Then I studied for these two tests today, and I did just fine on the first one, but I'll be surprised if I got a 50% on the second one. And no, I'm not exaggerating on that one. I bombed it. The worst thing is, the last test in that class I figured out why it was difficult--it was written in King James. So I studied for this test in King James. (The class is Corinthians, by the way). I read everything I needed to read. I started to tear-up after the first question. That was the only question I knew, and it simply asked what the focus of 1 Corinthians chapter 12 was. That was easy--I knew that before class. There were certain verses we had to memorize, and I only missed one or two words on each of those. No big deal. But when one of the EASIER other questions was "in verse 15 of the second chapter, which two words did Paul use to describe" something or other. I HAVE NO FRIGGIN IDEA!!! What is that anyways? All of them were that specific. And he usually does multiple choice and true/false questions (mind you, I've had over 30 tests with this prof in the last three and a half years), but this test was comprised nearly entirely of short answer and a few fill-in-the-blank with the occasional true/false question and only three multiple choice questions that each had more than one answer. I've had a rough day since then because I shouldn't ever do that horribly on a test. I only think I got a 50% if I GUESSED well on it, too. I felt prepared for it before I got there--then I got there. Oh, and it was written in KJ, so I had that right. Anyways, then I went to start my car and the battery was dead--I don' t know why--nothing was on and I haven't used it since last Thursday. Then I got out to check on everything in the engine, and what do you know? The hood is stuck shut from the deer hitting it and it being all smashed together. GRRR. It's been a bad day. But John has been absolutely wonderful asking what he can do if anything to make it better. I told him he could eat dinner with me...and now I'm doing homework in the library. Well, obviously I'm taking a break. But you get my drift anyways. Okay, I'll be home for Thanksgiving. Oh, on a great note!?!?! This weekend ROCKED! Everytime I think of it I smile today, so that's good. We did a youth service for about 25 teens at a baptist church on Saturday night, and 2 people got saved and 2 rededicated their lives to Christ! It rocked! Then we were only supposed to play for the Sunday morning service on Sunday at the AG church, but when we were finished, we were asked if we'd be willing to stay a couple hours longer and do the worship for the spanish service. We did that, too, so it was fun. My drumming was adequate. I gotta get back to my homework now. See you next week, I hope!

Check this out...

Kansas is completely for the theory of Intelligent Design and just booted Darwinism out of their curriculum, but Pennsylvania replaced and entire school board with Democrats by ousting the Republicans so they could get rid of ID and teach only evolution. I thought both these articles were fascinating (compliments of USA Today).

Kansas
Pennsylvania

On another note, I think it's kinda funny, but I sound waaaaay better on the electric set than on the acoustic set. They're really fun to play, I can make them sound however I want them to (change the pitch, reverb, delay, intensity, and a few other things), and I can turn them up or down to be louder than anyone else on the songs I play exceptionally well! ;) The only downside is that the toms sound kinda funny, so the tom solo I had in one song now has to be played with the ride going. I can do it and make it sound just fine, so it's not a big deal. That's about it! I gotta get to work and then practice some more. Lata!

Keeping Busy!

Yup, I have another test tomorrow, so I'll be studying for that tonight. I may be able to come online after curfew, but we'll see. I haven't been online in ages! Anyways, today I wrote one of my favorite writings ever. I wrote a letter to John that was probably the most beautiful completely honest piece of work I've ever written. I'd let you read it, but it was personal to him, so I guess you're just out of luck. ;) Other than that, I get to go on my first ministry trip this weekend! And yes, I AM DRUMMING!!! Talk about crazy! I'm taking one of the electric sets since we don't really have space in the van for the acoustic crappy set (which sounds WAY worse no matter what you say, and it's stuck together with duct tape and strings). If you're reading this, toss up a prayer for us as a team. We're going to Haywarden, IA to do a youth service on Saturday and a Sunday morning worship service on Sunday (obsiously). I'm coming home for Thanksgiving, though I doubt I'll be spending a whole lot of time with anyone but my family since they'll all be celebrating with me. :) Until next time!

My Poor Car!

Yup--for those of you who haven't heard, a deer decided it needed to die. Don't worry, the car runs just fine--probably better alligned than it was before, but the front left headlight needs to be replaced. I'm hoping to get to Minneapolis this weekend to visit my siblings, and I'll find out tomorrow if I still get to! I'd better be able to go! We have a ministry trip next week, and I'll find out tomorrow if we have practice on Saturday. It's gonna be rough if I can't leave--as much as I'd like to be here for a weekend and save my money on gas, I miss Rachel and want to see her again. And I'd like to see Cody, Caleb, Jenny, Kara, Ben, and Belle, too. But if I need to be here for practice, I'll stay. I need the practice more than anyone else on the team, so if there is a practice I've gotta make it to it. Anywho, I'll write more when I'm feeling slightly less bogged-down. I've got a lot of work to do and I've been off campus three weekends in a row, so I've been spending ALL my freetime doing homework. That's right! I'm not even online...ever. I miss you guys back home...if not before then, I'll see you at Thanksgiving! BTW, John's parents love me. Not to worry--we're still taking things slow. You won't see a ring on my finger any time soon. ;) And yes, we actually talk about these sorts of things! If anyone sees Nate, tell him I miss and love him, and tell Erin her letter is being delayed...sadly enough. LOL! Love you, Lynn!!!

BY THE WAY>>>
This is the post that I did and it never posted...I guess I hit save as draft instead of publish post. :P Here you go! I wrote it on the first.
